Norstan Communications, Inc. was founded in Minnesota by Sid Cohen and Paul Baszucki as a distributor of ROLM Telecommunications equipment. The 1980’s were a period of geographic growth for Norstan, making several key acquisitions that expanded the company’s footprint through parts of the U.S. and Canada:

• Allcom of Minnesota
• Electronic Engineering Company of Ohio (EECO) serving Ohio and Kentucky
• Communications Consultants, Inc. – Arizona and New Mexico
• ROLM telephone business from IBM Canada

The 1990’s were a period of Information Technology investments and expansion of intellectual capital through strategic growth opportunities.

The year 2000 ushered in the convergence decade and partnerships with strategic players such as Cisco Systems, Ericsson, Aspect Communications and others. In 2001, Norstan became a Nortel Networks Premium Partner, reinforcing our expansion to support geographies across the United States and Canada.

Today, we continue to provide best-in-class communications solutions and legendary customer service to customers throughout the U.S. and Canada.
