SIEMENS DIRECT ONLINE REGISTRATION PROCESS

PLEASE PRINT THIS DOCUMENT BEFORE YOU LOG ON TO THE SIEMENS WEB SITE!


REQUESTING A STUDENT ID:

1.   Log on to the Siemens Education web site at http://education.icn.siemens.com.
2.   Once on the main page, click the Login button in the upper right corner.
3.   At the login screen, click ‘Request a Student ID’.
4.   On the next screen, when asked if you are a Siemens employee, answer NO!
5.   The next screen asks you to choose a product line. Choose according to your need.
6.   On the next screen, the correct answer is Channel Partner Customer.
7.   Fill in the form fields as appropriate.
For Partner CMR #, key in 7768093
For Partner Organization, key in Black Box
8.   The next screen is the registration form itself. Fill in the appropriate information and click SUBMIT. NOTE: Your request for a student ID number is now in process. You will receive an e-mail with your Student ID number and password by the next business day. Registration for courses cannot begin until the Student ID number is received!
9.   Once you get your Student ID, follow the rest of the instructions.

REGISTRATION STEPS:

1.   Log on to the Siemens’ Education web site at http://education.icn.siemens.com.
2.   Once on the main page, click the Login button in the upper right corner.
3.   On the Login screen, fill in your assigned Student ID. Key in your password and click the Login button. (Forget your password? Click on ‘Forgot your password?’)
4.   Update your profile by clicking on My Profile (in the Student Center section at the left).
Make sure the student email address is your email address!.
In the section for Manager, change the manager's e-mail address as appropriate.
NOTE: Confirmation of registration will be sent to your e-mail address and copied to your manager's e-mail address.
5.   Once you have logged in, you will be able to reference what classes are available and register directly with Siemens.
After you log in, use the course code and course name to begin the process, e.g.. CU07 - Hicom 300 CS Basic System Administration Using HDMS Standard - LC- Win
Click on Course Catalogs (left side of the screen). Once on the Catalogs screen, click on the word SEARCH. At the SEARCH function, fill in the course code or course name and click Search. The site will list the specific class for which you are searching.
Click on Code (first column on left) to view the course description. You’ll want to note what course prereqs are required. Make sure the prereqs have been completed! If not, order the prereqs accordingly (see NOTES on LC prereq courses below). If you have completed the prereqs, you can complete the registration from the course description by scrolling down the description to see the dates listed again at the bottom. Just click on REGISTER (far right column).
This will bring up a screen with your profile information. Confirm the information as it’s listed and complete all the rest of the information as requested. In the space marked PO Number, key in your appropriate corporate PO. When finished, click SUBMIT.
On the next screen, double-check the information as it shows on the screen and click COMPLETE ENROLLMENT REQUEST at the bottom.
If there are no classes scheduled, you’ll see the following sentence: There are no classes currently scheduled. To join the waiting list for this course, please click here. Click on the bolded words waiting list or the bolded word here. This will take you to a screen that will have the instructions you’ll need.
NOTE: If the message comes up with 'no matches' during your search, it means the class is no longer offered or it may have been replaced by another course. At this time, contact Laurie Mettier, Siemens Enrollment Coordinator - Laurie.K.Mettier@icn.siemens.com.


** ORDERING LC OR WBT COURSES **
LC (Learning Center - prerequisites) and WBT(Web Based Training) courses are self-paced options offered by Siemens. They can be ordered by using the SEARCH function within COURSE CATALOGS. Otherwise, follow the steps as listed above. If you don’t find a match for the LC course you need, that means it needs to be specially ordered. Send your request for specially ordered LC prereqs to Laurie Mettier, Siemens Enrollment Coordinator - Laurie.K.Mettier@icn.siemens.com

If you get ‘Begin Course Now’ on the screen when ordering a WBT course, just click on the ‘X’ to exit out. The screen will disappear, but your order has been placed!

NOTES:


Training invoices will continue to be sent to Black Box and Black Box will invoice the customer.
